Washing Windows V: Women Revolutionise Irish Poetry 1975-2025
Very pleased to have a poem included in this fifth and final anthology of Irish women's poetry from Arlen House, edited by Alan Hayes and Nuala O'Connor. This extensive and important publication includes a history of women's poetry in Ireland and the story of Washing Windows, originally edited by Eavan Boland.

Poetry Ireland International Poet in Residence
Honoured to be selected as Poetry Ireland's International Poet in Residence at the Scottish Poetry Library in Edinburgh. The Residency scheme, supported by The Arts Council of Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs, was a special experience, centred around workshops with local schools, public events and my own research.

Follow its success in the 2021 Munsterlit International 'Fool for Poetry' chapbook competition, 'Anatomy of a Honey girl' became the 6th title in the New Irish Voices series, with the highest pre-orders and biggest launch in the history of Munsterlit.

Liz Houchin awarded Literature Bursary from the Arts Council of Ireland
Liz Houchin was delighted to receive a Literature Bursary from the Arts Council of Ireland. This Bursary will support Liz in the completion of a full poetry collection inspired by the women artists of Black Mountain College, North Carolina, particularly the weaver Anni Albers.

Maya C Popa selects 'Anatomy of a Honey girl' as finalist
'Anatomy of a Honey girl - poems for tired women' has been selected as the only Irish finalist in the international 'Fool for Poetry' chapbook competition. The title comes from a Mary Quant ad in Honey magazine from the 1960s, and the collection reflects on the objectification of the female body.

RTE Short Story Competition
'The Boxer Rebellion', a short about a woman who does not recognise her husband's underwear won 3rd prize in the International RTE Short Story Award.
