Liz Houchin
About
Liz Houchin lives in Dublin. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from University College Dublin and ‘Anatomy of a Honey girl (poems for tired women) was published in 2021. Her work has appeared in The Scotsman, The Stinging Fly, Banshee, Journal.ie, RTE, iamb and has shortlisted in competitions including the Fish, Bridport, Irish Novel Fair and Fool for Poetry prizes. In 2023, Liz was the Poetry Ireland International Poet in Residence at the Scottish Poetry Library in Edinburgh. Liz is an experienced facilitator of creative writing workshops at MoLI, the Museum of Literature Ireland. Liz is also an avid gardener and garden designer.

October 2025 - A wonderful few weeks facilitating poetry and creative writing workshops at the Museum of Literature Ireland, inspired by the famous Kilkenny Strawberry Tree (arbutus unedo) in the MoLI garden.
Washing Windows V
May 2025 - Very pleased to have a poem included in this fifth and final anthology of Irish women's poetry from Arlen House, edited by Alan Hayes and Nuala O'Connor. This extensive and important publication includes a history of women's poetry in Ireland and the story of Washing Windows, originally edited by Eavan Boland.
